Peace be Still

Today God has covered me with his grace in such a sweet way.  Do you remember the scripture where the disciples were in the boat and the storm came? Everyone was shaken up, upset, and very fearful, but Jesus was asleep. The disciples came to Jesus in a panic and he simply said, "peace be still." (Mark 4:35-41)

Through red, puffy eyes, a horrendous headache, random outbursts, and my 15th sleepless night, I begged Jesus to intervene and he spoke to my heart, "peace be still." You see, I have done this all before; the private battle between flesh and glory, the prayer partners activated, healing scriptures intact, fasting and fervent prayer....but Ruby died.

It is at this point when we realize the difference in our ephemeral mind and God's eternal one. We long for the eternal health and wellness of loved ones, but the reality is, this life is only temporary. So when the two realities collide, the conflict seems unbearable.  But Jesus reminds us in 2 Corinthians 12:9: "...My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness..."  God's eternal sovereignty is enough to handle any situation. Remember the lesson the disciples learned in the panic on the Sea of Galilee; call on Jesus and he will  give you peace.
