Are you out of your mind?

This post is by special guest James Moore.  James is the Co-Founder and President of Beyond Words Ministries,Inc., a character and leadership development program serving students in the middle Georgia, middle Tennessee, and Houston, TX. areas.

Are you out of your mind? What were you thinking?  Are you all there? These are the questions that are asked when a person does not respond or speak in their natural state of mind or  everyday language. Unfortunately, our natural state of mind is that of selfish thoughts, "it's all about me and not you," and "I've got mine now you go get yours." Of course this mindset is compliments of Adam and Eve(Genesis 3:6).

So how do we get to the point of being out of our minds?

The bible speaks in Philippians 2:5 "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus." When I'm out of my mind, Christ is at the gate of my thoughts acting as a filter. ( 2 Corinthians 10:5) Selfish thoughts and  negative statements are rejected. My personal agenda is erased and the lustful desires for the world are eradicated as Christ filters my mind. Jesus not only filters our mind, he evicts our natural and sinful mindset and takes over our mind. This is how we find our selves out of our minds.

Let Christ take over your mind today with His agenda. What are some of those action on His agenda?
Living a selfless life.
Giving a kind and encouraging word.
Looking at ways to serve others.
Loving unconditionally.
Having a continuous heart of prayer, worship and humility.

When Christ begins to flood our minds with such an agenda, we then begin to lose our minds and take on His.  So I ask the question again, are you out of your mind?  You don't have answer that right now, but your words and actions will soon tell us all.

Beyond Words,

James
